Meet Your Neighbor, Gary Brueck. Gary has lived at the edge of Stronghurst since he built a new home for his family in 1997. He is a carpenter in the family business of Brueck Construction in Burlington, Iowa founded by his dad "Bob" in 1974.
He is from a family of ten. Four sons and one daughter work for his father in building commercial, industrial buildings, with the majority ofhomes in Southeastern Iowa-West Central Illinois, and in Missouri.
He grew up spending Sundays at his family's cabin along the Mississippi, and still loves going out on the river and being with his family.
His wife Debbie is a Junior High School Counselor in Iowa for the Burlington School District. They have three children at the newly consolidated West Central School District: Jordan, (Sophomore), Logan (8th grade), and Hannah (6th grade).
Gary also is involved in the Boy Scouts of America and The Order of The Arrow at Camp Eastman. He has given many hours of labor in improving the campgrounds there.
He also helps coach his daughter's summer softball league.
What Gary enjoys the most is family activities and family vacations.
