Meet Your Neighbor: Joe Hilton
Mr. Joe Hilton was born in Peoria, and raised in La Harpe. He attended grade school in La Harpe, but he attended Military School in Mexico, Missouri for three years and finished his senior year at La Harpe High, graduating in 1984.
After high school, Joe went into the Army in the Air Bourne Infantry. He spent time in Ft. Benning in Georgia and Ft. Campbell in Kentucky.
Joe's parents are Maxine and Cecil Hilton of La Harpe. He also loves spending time with his niece, Stephanie Hilton, a junior at Monmouth College. Joe also loves movies; he's a bit of a movie buff. You may have heard him at Ayerco a few times talking about his favorite movies as you make your movie selections.
One of his favorite memories, as well as, a fact that he brags about, is that he attended the opening night for "Star Wars" in May of 1977 at the Illinois Theatre. "Star Wars" and the movie "Seven" are his two favorites.
Joe also loves "his St. Louis Cardinals." He will definitely let that be known. Joe is a friendly face around town, always with a smile. He enjoys hanging out with his friends and of course watching his favorite movies as well as viewing new ones
