Emergency Preparedness At West Central

West Central CUSD #235 held controlled fire drill exercises Tuesday and Wednesday of this week involving emergency responders from all over the county.

The large-scale effort was the district's first drill involving all the teachers, students, and staff in their new assignments during this first year of the consolidated school. Administrators now have this first experience to evaluate the exit times and routes to help insure the safety of all students and staff in the event of a real emergency.

The exercise brought emergency responders from all parts of the county in a simulation of a real fire emergency at the school. Thanks to the cooperation of all the county emergency units and all the district staff, both the school and the emergency responders now have better information to deal with possible future school emergencies.
