Heat Falls To Rebels

by Will Bavery

The Stark County Rebels just had more Isaac Anderson than the Heat could handle last Friday evening. Anderson ripped the Heat defense for 26 points in the second quarter as Stark County pulled away to a 26 to 16 lead at halftime. The Heat offense was again able to score points as the Heat led 8-0 and 16-12, but defensively the Heat just couldn't control the middle.

Darick Clark gave the Heat the first score on a 2 yard run. Darick hit Abe Chockley for the conversion pass to give the Heat an 8-0 lead. After two Stark County scores by Isaac Anderson, Abe Chockley went in from 65 yards and Darick Clark hit Aaron Landers with the conversion pass to put the Heat in the lead 16-12. Stark County would tack on 14 more points before halftime.

In the second half the Heat defense did a better job of containing Anderson, but the Rebels went to the air to pick up two more touchdowns. The Heat countered with a passing touchdown of their own. Darick Clark hit Aaron Landers with a three yard touchdown pass. Darick also found Aaron on the two point conversion. The 24 points the Heat were able to score just wasn't enough, and the Heat's hopes to make the playoffs this year died.

The final game of the season for the Heat will be this Friday at Kewanee Wethersfield. The Heat will be trying to close out the 2005 campaign with a victory.
