Meet your neighbor Marcella Cisna, of rural Biggsville. Marcella is the Henderson County Clerk in charge of keeping records for the county. She keeps everything from births to deaths, transactions of deeds, mortgages, liens, discharges from the service, and any documents that officially need to be recorded. She also keeps the minutes of the county board meetings, and she conducts all the elections. Marcella is the daughter of Silvia Smith and the late Floyd Ebert. Marcella has lived in Biggsville since second grade graduating from Union High School. She married Roger Cisna and the couple have two married children, Shawn who lives in Galva and has three girls, and Brenda Mills who lives in Monmouth. After high school, Marcella worked at the Penny Saver laying out ads and doing computer work. She then worked for Steve Landuyt when he was States Attorney as his secretary, and when Zack Stamp opened his law office in Stronghurst, she worked in his office. She then began working as a deputy clerk in the Henderson County Clerk's office for 15 years before she was elected County Clerk in 1998 and has 22 years experience there. Marcella is a member of the Republican women having served as its President and Secretary. she enjoys reading, books on tape, gardening, traveling and attending ballgames of her niece's at West Central. She also enjoys horseback riding with her daughter Brenda who has horses. Marcella said what she enjoys best about living here is the people and the small town feel of Henderson County. |
