The Village of Stronghurst has approved Monday, October 31st from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. as Trick or Treat night. They are asking residents to refrain from burning leaves that day so the children do not walk in ashes or smoldering leaves.
The board met on Monday, October 3rd with all members present except David Vancil.
The board voted to replace three furnaces (city hall, truck shed and sewage treatment plant) at a cost not to exceed $4,000.
It was voted to amend the water hook up ordinance from $50 per hook up to $25. Tony Griepentrog, Lawrence Neff, Angela Myers, and Cory Fox all voted yes, with Juanita Jarvis casting a no vote.
The board approved changing the clean up committee meeting date to the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
Friday, October 28th has been designated as village clean up day.
The board entered closed session at 8:03 p.m., returning to open session at 8:13 p.m.
On a motion by Tony Griepentrog, seconded by Angela Myers it was voted to switch the positions of village clerk and treasurer. Lori Russell will serve as village clerk and Lou Ann Nortrup will be village treasurer, with salaries to be leveled out at the highest of the two.
The board adjourned at 8:37 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2005.
