The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
The President-ProTem and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lomax met in regular session on Tuesday, September 6, 2005. President ProTem Todd called meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the Clerk gave roll call.
Roll: Jack Todd (P), Leslie Roberts (P), James Rosenboom (P), Ron Van Niewaal (A),Sarah Schaefer (P), Karl Schaefer, Jr. (P), and Kim Peters (P), Greg Webster (P).
Minutes: Greg moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as written; seconded by Sarah; roll call vote all ayes.
Treasurer's Report: Kim moved to approve the following treasurer's report as presented; seconded by Greg; roll call vote all ayes.
Bills: Peters moved to accept the bills presented and that warrants be issued to pay same; seconded by Sarah; roll call vote all ayes.
General Business:
Sheriff's Deputy reported on 4-wheeler complaints and park vandalism. Todd was to contact the States Attorney and Sheriff to discuss possible actions that could be taken.
Sandy Vancil was recognized and asked the status of Railroad Street. The board found that the street has not been vacated. The board also discussed her previous concern regarding prohibiting trucks from using jake brakes.
Attorney Rasmussen handed out some sample ordinances to look over. The matter was tabled.
Todd reported that WIRC had informed him that the Village's grant application for water had been turned down. They plan to file again.
Greg reported that he is organizing a cemetery walk November 5 at Crane Cemetery from 1-4 p.m. Rain date will be November 6.
Webster moved to direct attorney to take action to break the lease with the Haunted House Boys for the community center; seconded by Karl Schaefer. Roll call: James Rosenboom (Nay), Sarah Schaefer (Aye), Karl Schaefer, Jr. (Aye), and Kim Peters (Aye), Greg Webster (Aye). Motion carried.
The Board discussed the matter of graveling Railroad Street. Streets and Alleys were directed to look into cost. ΚΚΚΚΚΚ
