Relay Theme Unveiled
The Relay for Life of Henderson County Committee is back to work on the 2006 Relay for Life set for July 21 and 22, 2006. This year the committee selected their theme as: "Give Cancer the Boot".
The event will be held at West Central North Campus. Plans are to have the Jamie Decker Band at this year's event.
On September 30th and October 1st, Melissa Woods and Charlotte Shafer attended the Relay University in Chicago. This is a two day seminar that is held where ideas are shared, training is provided, and all the Regions of Illinois are recognized for the year.
Over 4,400 Relays were held all over the world this year.
On November 8th, seven of the Henderson County committee members attended a training that was held in Monmouth.
Organizers used the same training methods that were used at Relay U., and roundtable discussions were held. Hopefully, each learned something new and were able to share some of the ideas with other Relay Committees that were at this training.
