Meet Jennifer Schaley, a lifetime resident of Stronghurst. She was born November 3, 1949 to Ralph and Darlene Tatge and she is a 1967 Stronghurst High School Graduate. For fourteen years, Jennifer has been Activity Director at Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab, and says she loves the people, both residents and co-workers. "It's like one big happy family."
Jennifer also plays the organ once a month at her church, The Stronghurst Christian Church.
She married her high school sweetheart, Ron Schaley June 2, 1968 and he works at Stronghurst Auto Body. The couple have four grown children: Brendan an Illinois State Trooper (wife Lisa) lives in Stronghurst, ; Krista Schaley-Timmerman, RN of Cardiovascular medicine in Davenport, IA; Dee Ann Tate, Deputy Circuit Clerk in Oquawka, lives in Dallas City; and Jana Nelson, Comptroller for Lenox Land Development lives in Dallas, TX.
"I love living in a small community," Jennifer said. "I know the people and they are so friendly."
After traveling, she is always glad to be home to smiling faces.
