First State Bank of Western Illinois, La Harpe office, will once again be the collection place for new gifts which will be distributed within the La Harpe community by community members.
This project was started in 1988 with the idea to provide a "gift" rather than a "needed" item to families in our community.
Gifts may be placed under the Christmas tree, in the bank lobby, anytime between November 26 and December 12. A collection box will be next to the tree for cash donations. All gifts must be new and left unwrapped. Cash donations will be used to purchase additional gifts.
There is a wide variety of items that are appropriate for this project. For example: toys, games, books, school logo items, throws, perfume, jewelry, watches, billfolds, candy and candles, just to name a few.
Keep in mind that all ages benefit from this project from the elderly to the very young.
As you do your shopping, pick up a little something extra for your family to share with someone less fortunate. Your donation will help make a difference in the lives of families in our community during the holidays.
