Make This Christmas a "Night of Treasures" For A Child In Henderson County

As Executive Director of the Henderson County Rural Health Center, I see daily the impact of the economic situation on the residents of Henderson County.

With the holiday season quickly approaching, I know many families will be faced with the disappointment of not being able to afford toys for their children for Christmas.

Many families barely have enough money to buy gas to get to their jobs and are now going to be faced with increasing costs to heat their home for the winter.

Toys For Tots is an annual effort organized by the Marine Corps Reserve nationwide to assist needy families with toys for children ages 0-13.

Toys are provided free of charge to qualifying families at Christmas time.

I encourage residents who can assist with this wonderful program to donate a new, unwrapped toy to the Toys For Tots program this year.

Toys will be collected by Santa's special Elves at the Stronghurst Christmas Walk on Friday, November 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Toys will be placed in a sleigh for special distribution throughout the county before Christmas.

Toys may also be dropped off at the Raritan State Bank or the Bank of Stronghurst.

The theme of this year's Christmas Walk is "Night of Treasures".

Make this Christmas a "Night of Treasures" for a child in our community.

No gift is too small. Residents wishing to make monetary donations may send them to: Toys For Tots, c/o Todd Lange, D.C., P.O. Box 389, Stronghurst, Illinois 61480. Together we can make a difference!
