Meet Your La Harpe

School Teacher

By Melanie Sharpe-Lessen/The Quill

Meet Your La Harpe High School Teacher Susan Holtsclaw, La Harpe High School's new business teacher.

Susan is new to La Harpe, but not new to teaching, she has taught business for over seventeen years.

Susan and her husband, Tom, live south of Carthage with their three sons, Lane, 16, Jesse, 13, and Christian, 12.

Susan really enjoys working at La Harpe and states that the Carthage/LaHarpe rivalry does not affect her too much, even though her eldest son is one of the Blue Boys. He actually told her to take the job at La Harpe, because he knew and liked the students that attended here.

Susan says that this year, at La Harpe, she has encountered the best group of seniors and she thoroughly loves teaching them. She commented that there must be a lot of good supportive parents in the community to raise such great kids.

Susan says that in her free time she enjoys horseback riding, scrapbooking, embroidery, and quilting. She also loves to run her video camera and take photographs.

Susan, good luck here in La Harpe, we hope that you continue to enjoy being part of our community.
