Five burglaries in Stronghurst, occurring in the month of October, are under investigation by the Henderson County Sheriff's Department according to a report given to the Stronghurst Village Board on November 7th.
In a call to the Sheriff's Department, Sheriff Mark Lumbeck said there was no press release or information regarding these burglaries for release. Two of the burglaries were at businesses, Bob's TV and the Laundromat, the other three were at residences in Stronghurst.
The October report also included harassment by telephone and theft of $300 and under, which were referred to responsible parties and one speeding arrest.
According to Sheriff Lumbeck, the break-ins are not released to crime stoppers until much later and all means of solving the case have been exhausted.
In other board action:
A letter from the Henderson County Clerk requested a record of building permits issued in Stronghurst for the last two years.
Those present included: President Eric Chockley; Clerk Lori Russell; Treasurer, Lou Ann Northrup; Board members, Tony Griepentrog, Angela Myers, Lawrence Neff, Juanita Jarvis, Cory Fox and David Vancil; Employee Tony Anderson and Deputy Steve Haynes.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. until Monday, December 5, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall.
