The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
The 911 emergency number has been in use in Henderson County for the last three years. According to records in the Henderson County Sheriff's office, this number receives as many as 30 to 40 calls per month.
Henderson County does not have the ENHANCED 911 as we see on television. When a 911 call is made it is very important that the caller remain on the telephone and give their name, location, reason for call and phone number.
Dispatchers suggest that location be referred to as county road number, neighbor or any other means of identification. Do not use a post office box number or mail route. If in town, use street name and house number. This is very important if the caller expects assistance.
Please do not forget, as of November 30, the M.S.T. Fire Department will no longer be using the fire phone number that has been in effect since the 1960's. 911 stickers may be picked up at most business places in Stronghurst.
If there are any questions relating to the use of 911, please call the Henderson County Sheriff's Office at 1-888-867-1101. The dispatchers will gladly answer your questions.
