5th Grade Shows Their Knowledge of Our 50 States

By Melanie Sharpe-Lessen, Quill reporter

On Friday, November 4th, La Harpe's fifth grade class displayed to friends and family, as well as other visiting grades, what they knew about our fifty states.

From 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. the students showed off their hard work and knowledge of their selected state in the cafeteria.

Each student was assigned a state to research.

With the information they gathered they then constructed posters, and booklets. They each also included a sample of a food product that was produced in their specific state that all could sample and enjoy.

The class also created a computer slide show of the states they had visited with their families.

The class also sang three songs for the crowd that also included the use of synchronized flags.

All the students enjoyed sharing their new knowledge of their states and also getting to spend the afternoon participating in a new and different activity than the usual Friday at La Harpe Elementary.
