Meet your neighbor, Alma McKay.
Alma lives in Plymouth, and commutes to La Harpe, where she works as the charge nurse on the day shift for the La Harpe Davier Health Care Center.
She typically works 3 to 4 days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. She has worked here at the center for two years. Alma is also their current employee of the month.
Alma was born in Macomb on March 28th. She graduated from Sterling High School. In Sterling. Alma has been in the nursing field since 1972.
She was a nurse's aid for 12 years and then received her license in 1984. She has always been in nursing, but took two years off to drive a semi-truck cross-country.
She has been to 48 states as well as, Canada and Mexico. She loved driving, but missed her nursing career. She gets the chance in the summer to drive with her son, who is a semi driver.
Alma has 2 sons and 7 beautiful grandchildren, 4 boys and 3 girls. She enjoys going to their school events, knitting, embroidery, and quilting.
She's also an animal lover who has a Rotweiler puppy, 2 birds, cats, and tropical fish along with a hamster.
