Meet your neighbor, Derrell Brame, new to the Stronghurst community. He is the new youth minister at the Stronghurst Christian Church. He and his wife, Emily, met in the fourth grade and have been married for almost three years. He graduated from Lincoln Christian College this past December with a degree in Youth Ministry. He was ordained on January 30, 2005. Emily is graduating this month from Lincoln. Derrell was born in Champaign and moved to Boston, Massachusetts when he was 8. He and his family lived there for two years and then moved to St. Louis in 1991. He has one brother, and one sister. His father is the pastor at Elm Street Christian Church in Olney. Derrell is anxious to develop the youth program at Stronghurst Christian Church. He wants to begin more activities for the kids and help them grow in their walk with Christ. Derrell enjoys all kinds of sports, video games, card games, Chess, and building Lego's. He and Emily have a dog named Mac. Derrell enjoys being here in Stronghurst. "I don't have to worry about traffic anymore since moving here," he said. |
