Meet Your Neighbor Roberta (Huston) Haines, born near Fountain Green and graduated from Fountain Green High School.
Roberta married Ellis Haines in 1939. They lived in Bushnell, for 30 years. Ellis owned his own trucking business there. When he retired and sold his business they moved to La Harpe.
Roberta said they chose La Harpe because it was close to their farm west of La Harpe and Ellis wanted something to do after he retired.
They loved to travel and went to a lot of different places. Ellis passed away in 1999. Roberta likes to read, and enjoys her nieces and nephews. She is a member of the Union Church in La Harpe.
