Meet Your Neighbor Jill Thompson, and the new Director of Nursing at La Harpe-Davier Health Care Center. She took over this position on April 19. Her duties will be overseeing the overall well being of residents and staff.
Jill has always lived in this area and graduated from Northwestern High School. She started as a CNA at the age of 15. She then became an LPN and then a RN. She has a Bachelors Degree in Health Services Managment with a focus on long term care. She also was licensed last fall as a Nursing Home Administrator.
She has worked in health services since she was 15 and knows that long term care is where she wants to be. She enjoys the residents and their wisdom. She said she has learned a lot from them. She enjoys being at La Harpe because it is a small facility and she can interact with the residents. She has gotten to know the residents very well here. She already knew most of the staff from working her internship here. You won't usually find Jill in her office because she spends most of her time out on the floor.
Jill lives near La Harpe and is a single parent with two boys, Taylor, age 13, and Tevin, age 6.
