Meet Your Neighbor Hank Snyder, born in Cornwall, New York. He grew up and went to school in New York and New Jersey. After high school he worked in a machine shop for a few years. Hank served in the Army for 3 years, going to signal school at Fort Monmouth and then on to the Phillipine Islands and Greenland. After the Army, he worked at Monsanto and other chemical plants. He worked at Sinclair in Fort Madison, Iowa. He worked in La Harpe helping with the new water plant and sewer system. He then worked at Dial Company in Fort Madison in maintenance with the utility crew. In 1985, he received major injuries while working there and was unable to continue. Hank has served La Harpe as well, and in many capacities. He belongs to the La Harpe Lions Club, La Harpe Masonic Lodge, La Harpe American Legion, La Harpe Fire Department, and is a member of the La Harpe Park Board. Hank and his wife, Gloria, were married in 1966. They have four daughters, Cathy of Arkansas, Gail of Macomb, Sharon of La Harpe and Robin of Michigan. They also have 3 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, and 1 great grandson. Hank enjoys spending time with his family and likes to travel too. |
