Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your teacher, Peg Ingles, 1st grade teacher at Union Elementary.

This is Mrs. Ingles' 20th year of teaching. She has taught Title I Reading to grades first - sixth as well as first grade.

Mrs. Ingles graduated from Southern High School and attended college at Illinois State for one year after which she got married to Don Ingles.

They have two children, Sarah Nichols and Gretchen Peterson.

They have four grandchildren, Noah Nichols and Eric, Mariah and Kristen Peterson. Peg and Don have been married for 31 years and live in rural Lomax.

Mrs. Ingles went on to receive her Bachelors from Western Illinois University and a Masters in Reading from Western as well.

Mrs. Ingles enjoys swimming, gardening, reading, time spent with her family and being involved with the Carman United Methodist church choir.

She is the chairperson of trustees at church, is facilitating 2 groups of teachers in which she is responsible for training the Standards Aligned Classroom, (Illinois state standards), is involved with a women's cancer support group, and is the chairperson for team recruitment for the Relay for Life.

She wants to remind everyone that the Relay Kickoff is this Thursday, March 31.

Mrs. Ingles loves getting her students excited about learning.
