Meet Your Neighbor David Hobby, who was born in 1962 in La Harpe.
David attended school in La Harpe graduating in 1980 from La Harpe High School.
After high school he attended Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, Missouri. He has been auctioneering for 25 years.
In 1983 he married Susan McKinnon. They have 2 sons, J.D. who is 16 and Travis who is 13.
David enjoys spending time with his family and going to the Lake of the Ozarks for relaxation. He farms and enjoys raising baby pigs and calves.
Besides auctioneering and farming, he is a substitute bus driver for La Harpe and West Prairie schools.
He said he went to auctions with his dad as a kid and enjoyed it. He could do it before he went to auction school and both his boys have their dad's talent and can do it too.
