Focus On Business: K&C Enterprises Sales & Service

by Judy Swanson, The Quill Staff

Ken Foster (right), Lenus Duffy (left), and Tim Crose purchased the former La Harpe Motor Sales from Wayne Yetter and Bill Hasten April 1, 2002. They later bought out Tim Crose in August of 2004.

K & C Enterprises buy and sell all brands of used cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, and ATV's. They have a full service department and do general repairs on all vehicles.

They are located at 709 East Main in La Harpe. Their store hours are from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. until noon on Saturdays. The service area is open 7:30 a.m until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and is closed on Saturday.

Ken and Lenus attend auctions two times a week. If a customer is looking for something specific they can locate it for them. Ken along with Wayne Yetter are the salesmen, and Lenus sells, and is the service manager for the shop.

Lenus enjoys his work. He said that is all he knows to do because he has worked in the shop since he graduated from high school.

Ken likes it because things change continuously, meeting new people and working with people in general.

They have 3 employees in the shop, Carron, Ken's wife and Lenus's sister is the bookkeeper; Rachel Geissler is the secretary. Wayne Yetter helps with sales and many other jobs, and Gerald Boyd goes to auctions with them and helps around the business.

Ken said the business has worked well and exceeded their expectations.
