Russell Liston, one of Biggsville's historians and collectors, took the pulpit at the beautiful historic South Henderson Church west of town Sunday morning to welcome visitors to a special service that finalized the town's four day Sesquicentennial celebration.
The beautiful church and cemetery is a sister church to the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church and is responsible for seeding many other Presbyterian churches in the area and Monmouth College
"How Great Thou Art" echoed from the stone church as the packed crowd raised their voices with featured guests, The Prairieland Barbershop chorus of Macomb. The group gave the sermon in song. In closing remarks Liston said, "Memory is precious.... Memory revives faith. During the week-end you have had many opportunities to remember. It has been stimulated by a picture, a song, an old friend, a place not visited for a long time.
