Linda Hughes, Oquawka
Linda Hughes has lived in Oquawka for 7 years and is a native of Montgomery, IL, about 45 miles south of Chicago.
She is a graduate of East High School in Aurora and attended college at Wabonese College in Sugar Grove, IL, and at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, IA.
She retired from Lucent Technologies in Naperville in 1997. Her husband Robert is retired from Caterpillar in Aurora. The couple has 3 grown children, Tony, Mark and Teresa.
Linda works 3 days a week during the summer at Slagel's produce stand in Oquawka, across the road from the Henderson County Health Center.
Linda enjoys spending time with her mother and two sisters who also live in Oquawka. Hobbies for Linda include working on the computer, flowers and working in the yard.
"Everybody's always telling me what a beautiful yard we have," Linda says.
