Dr. Steve Rodeffer is currently in his 25th year of dental practice. His office is located at 202 West Main Street in La Harpe.
The valuable members of his staff consist of Barbara Louden, Donna Purdy, Jena Fisher, Barbara Mahaffy, and his daughter, Jesse Rodeffer.
Dr. Steve Rodeffer was born and raised in La Harpe. He attended grade school and Jr. High in Durham and graduated from La Harpe High School in 1973.
He then attended Milikin in Decatur and graduated in 1977. He then attended Southern Illinois in Alton for dental school and graduated in 1980.
Steve says that he likes working with people and families everyday at his practice. He also says that it is rewarding when you make a frightened child realize the visit to the dentist is not so bad.
Steve states that most people that are scared to go to the dentist are just scared of the unknown. He walks his timid patients through everything they will encounter so nothing is a surprise. First he shows his patients what he is going to do, then he tells them how he will do it, and then he does it.
Steve will also be celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary with wife, Paula, in November of this year. Steve and Paula have three children, Maggie, who is currently at pharmacy school at SIU, Edwardsville, Jesse, a sophomore at SIU, majoring in nursing, and Alex, who will be senior in high school this fall.
