Biggsville Plans Community Breakfast
A community breakfast was the main topic of discussion early this month at the regular meeting of the Biggsville Village Board, the 5th.
With President Janet Monville presiding, and the following trustees present: Marilyn Evans, Daryl Forbes, Gloria Minard, and Louise Webb, the board was able to finalize plans for the Biggsville Community Breakfast to be on Saturday, February 12th from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m.
The group plans to serve breakfast casseroles, fruit medley, banana bread, and drinks, asking only for a donation toward their 2005 Sesquicentennial Celebration fund.
In other business it was reported:
- that testing the water valves has stopped until sections can be identified for JULIE.
- McClure Engineering needs to separate the old well and the new well before the Illinois EPA will approve the Water Quality Project, and the trailer is still occupied.
- Trees are not yet planted at ball park.
- Repairing and/or replacing some of the Christmas decorations was discussed. Approximately five decorations need to be replaced.
- The Biggsville Fire Department was concerned about the location of the transformer if the Stout house was to be burned. Monville will make sure all services are disconnected before the house is knocked down. Kevin Shauman was voted to knock down the Stout house.
- It was recommended the board designate funds raised through the recycling program for use by the Parks and Recreation Committee.
- Next regular meeting will be Wed., Feb. 2nd, 7:00 p.m. at the Biggsville Community Building.
Meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
