Christy Fox opened her own business Christy's Cuts on May 1, 1996. It is located on South Center Street in La Harpe in the building where Time and Chime Jewelers used to be.

Christy previously worked for Donna Traser in a beauty shop on North 1st Street for 5 years before opening her own beauty shop.

Christy graduated from the Institute of Cosmetology Arts in Burlington, Iowa and received her license as a cosmetologist.

Christy says she likes working for herself. Her friend, Teresa Covert, helped her set up her shop and all her furnishings came from Teresa's former shop.

Her services offered 4 days a week include hair cuts, color, perms, and styles.

About 3 years ago, she cut her hours from full time to part time so she could be on her children's schedule and take part in their activities.
