La Harpe Ayerco service station was built new and opened in August 1988. Nichole Reed is the current manager. She has worked there for 11 years, and became the manager a year and a half ago.
Nichole's duties include paper work, computer work, scheduling and hiring of employees, and ordering supplies.
Ayerco is opened 7 days a week from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. every day of the year, including holidays.
Besides gasoline fuel, they offer soda, chips, candy, shakes, deli sandwiches, milk and bread, automotive products, video rentals, and a small health and a beauty department. In the near future they will be offering breakfast sandwiches.
Nichole says she likes working with the public and being with people. She has made many friends that she would not have if she hadn't been working there.
She also says, "You've gotta love the coffee drinkers!"
Nichole and her husband, Scott, make their home in La Harpe.
