For the next three years West Central C.U.S.D. #235 will have dual valedictorians and salutatorians from each school. This will also include top scholar lists, as well as class ranks from both schools.
School mascots drawings have been submitted and will now be narrowed down before the board makes their final decision.
Jay Blender reported on the extracurricular activities. The high school sports schedules are complete for volleyball, football and basketball. Spring sports, baseball, softball and track are not complete yet.
A discussion was held concerning dual sport participation. Presently, Union allows only one sport at a time, while Southern allows participation in two. The matter was tabled until the board could get more information on the policies.
A modified block schedule was presented by Principal Karen Rima. She was asked to prepare a similar traditional schedule with the same classes for the board to compare.
