The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
MURDER AND MAYHEM: In March 1870 three men were charged with the brutal murder of an unknown man in the vicinity of Ellison Creek years before.
A skeleton was discovered in an old cistern near Hopper's Mills and the suspicion fell upon the indicted three men: Daniel McCue, John DeHague and Warren Park.
Tried in three different counties, all were eventually found to be innocent after long, protracted trials.
Thus, the horrendous murder was never solved and the real facts of the case remain unknown as well as the identity of the perpetrators.
