MURDER AND MAYHEM: In August 1870 John Turner, alias Charles Coburg, was indicted for the murder of Frederick Watson at East Burlington (Gulfport).
He was tried at the August term 1870 court and convicted. His sentence was a term of 10 years in prison at Joliet.
