Answering roll call at the regular meeting of the La Harpe City Council were Council members Irish, Lovell, Helmers, Bennett, Burford, Carpenter, Neff, Clerk Carol Stevens, and Mayor Kenny Brown. Also, present was Tim Graves.
A meter at the sewer plant that is used to perform monthly tests is now needing to be replaced by a digital and more updated model. The cost of the meter will be between $1,000 and $1,500. The board approed to purchase and replace the meter.
A resolution for a parade permit for the homecoming parade on Friday, September 23 at 1:30 p.m. was approved.
The date for the fall city-wide clean up is being tentatively set for Friday, October 14. This date will be posted after confirming with the waste removal company.
Mayor Brown was nominated and approved to serve on a committee for the county ambulance service to assess the community needs and problems. The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
