The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
Saturday, September 18, the S.U. football team traveled to Beardstown to face the Tigers.
S.U. won the toss to start the game and was moving the ball well when they lost the ball on a fumble. The Tigers recovered and marched down the field for their 1st score.
On the kickoff, S.U. fumbled again - definitely not the start they were looking for.
During the first half, the defense was on the field way too much.
S.U. had the ball for only 8 minutes in the first half. The score at halftime was 20-6.
S.U. is not the kind of team that can fall behind another team by 20 points and get back in the game.
The offensive line did a lot better pass- blocking for Adam Corzatt this week.
Adam again had a nice game making 18 completions in 30 attempts. A total of 251 yards is a good game.
The final score of 32-12 doesn't indicate the effort these young men put out.
Friday night will be a big test for S.U. when they face one of the best backs in the state.
It will also be a big week for the Union boys as it will be their Homecoming as well as Senior Night.
All you great fans come out and support these young men at Union High School.
