Moment in History

Imagine a hot summer's day and not much happening in the developing town of Stronghurst.

What better place to meet than in front of the local lunchroom where (from the sign) ice cream and varied opinions on community and world problems would be swapped. No date is given on the picture of a group of men lounging in front of a lunchroom where the present Bank of Stronghurst is now located, but a list of names identifies these business/professional men as:

H. L. Marshall, Charley Collins, Tom Pape, Frank Veech, George Hunter, Albert Peaterson (probably Peterson), A.L.Beaver, Charley Lukens, and Dan Shook. .

Pictures like this (displayed on Heritage Trail) are being collected by the Henderson County Genealogy and Family History Society at the Henderson County Library in Biggsville. As you sort old boxes of old family pictures, remember to share them with the society-your long lost cousin may be searching for you.
