Meet Your Neighbor Charlotte Davis. Mrs. Davis is the principal of pre-school through the 8th grade in the La Harpe School District #335. She was born and raised in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School. After high school, she received her B.A. Education degree with a major in German and a minor in Spanish from Illinois State University in Normal. She received her Masters in Reading Specialist. Mrs. Davis also received 32 hours additional course hours in Reading Remediation and Instruction from Western Illinois University in Macomb; an Educational Administration Certification program from WIU. She completed the Superintendent Illinois certification assessment and will complete her EDS Educational Administration this December. Her goal is to be in administration and leadership positions in a school district. Charlotte taught school for many years before becoming a principal in 1999. She taught high school Spanish and Title I Junior High and Elementary Reading, Language Arts and Math at La Harpe starting in 1987 and ending in 1999. Charlotte and her husband, Barry, live in Macomb and have been married for 35 years. They have two children, Justin and Sarah. In her spare time she enjoys reading, crafts and playing the piano. |
