People currently not in a partnership may want to attend to learn the advantages of having a Conservation 2000 partnership in their area such as being able to apply for Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation 2000 grants.
This year board directors for McDonough and Hancock counties will be elected from residents of those counties. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
There will be two informative presentations. A video will be shown of a recent helicopter fly over showing part of the La Moine watershed.
The video will be presented by William P. White, Professional Scientist and Manager in the Peoria Office of the Illinois State Water Survey.
Global positioning was recorded with the video so the exact location of the images can be viewed on a map.
Karyn McDermaid will discuss the results of several surveys that were mailed to area residents, land owners and educators to help LMREP learn the concerns and visions people thought were important.
McDermaid is the Senior Research Specialist in Natural Resource Policy and the Managing Editor of the Illinois Steward magazine published by the University of Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences.
