Meet Your Neighbor Kay Olson, born in La Harpe. She was raised and attended school here, and has spent her entire life in La Harpe.
Kay married Jim Olson on August 26, 1960. He passed away very suddenly in 1996, after he and Kay had been married 36 years. They have one daughter, Shana (Jackson) and one granddaughter, Kayla.
Kay worked at Brodie Breaded Tenderloin Restaurant in Macomb for 3 years and King Seeley in Macomb for 10 years. She cleaned houses for a while and now works at the La Harpe School. She will be celebrating her 25th year at the school at the end of this school year with 23 of those years in the school cafeteria. She has seen a lot of children come through the lunch line in those years.
Kay enjoys spending time with her family and taking care of her home and yard. She also enjoys spending time at the La Harpe pool and attending her granddaughter's softball games.
