Union Junior High Promotion exercises was held for 8th Graders at Union High School, in rural Biggsville on Friday evening, May 21st at 7:00 p.m.
Awarded the Presidential Award for grades and Faculty Citizenship Award along with The Terry Avery Science Award, Science Award and Mathematics Award was Miranda Clark, the daughter of Brian and Melinda Clark of rural Oquawka.
Also receiving several honors was Chianne Hartman, daughter of Buck and Aletha Brownlee of Oquawka. Chianne received awards in social studies, science, and language arts.
Ethan Thompson was awarded the Faculty Citizenship Award.
Jessica Saldeen received the Language Arts Award, and Social Studies Award, and Math Award.
Flint Kage also won a core award.
Directed by Ms. Dawn Ferguson, the 8th Grade Chorus performed "Make Your Dreams Come True."
Motto: "It is not the "IQ" but the "I will" that is important."
