Purchased the Fathom Blue Automobile

Car enthusiasts in La Harpe were probably curious on May 2nd when two car haulers with three cars inside came into town. The cars were owned by Helen Gibb, Robert and Nancy Lionberger and Brad VanVark of Wisconsin.

In March, Helen purchased the #50 car of the fifty 1968 Novas which Fred Gibb Chevrolet had sold with the COPO #9738.

Her purchase has fulfilled her desire of many years to own this Fathom Blue automobile. It had originally been delivered to a man from near Kansas City who drove it as a race car.

Many years later, it reappeared in La Harpe on the back of a truck, unrestored, and just before one of the Fred Gibb Car Shows.

It again disappeared and was found in Atlanta, Georgia by Matt Murphy, producer of the popular GMMG cars. He restored the car completely and last August brought the beautiful 1968 Nova to the Gibb car show.

The car is now back home in La Harpe and will be shown at various car shows.

Another car was a 35th Anniversary Camaro owned by the Lionbergers. It was returning from the GMMG shop after receiving some additional work by their specialists. The trademark says, "When fast just isn't fast enough!"

The third car, a 2002 Camaro, from Wisconsin continued its ride from La Harpe to the Georgia shop for special work.

Another car, a 1970 Camaro of the Lionbergers, had been purchased by Matt Murphy and also made the trip down south.

Matt Murphy, of Marietta, Georgia, was involved in all the car deliveries. You may see all of these cars at the Fred Gibb Memorial Car Show this summer.
