Dallas City- Hoping to have a replacement named before Charles Langley retires as superintendent June 30, the school board is working out details on a contract to be offered to Kenneth Nudd.
Should the contract be completed, Nudd would serve as an interim administrator.
With the district's future uncertain-it is currently involved in high school convergence talks with Carthage, Nauvoo-Colusa and La Harpe - the contract would be for a limited number of days through the school year and would run for one year.
Nudd last served as a school administrator in the Nauvoo-Colusa school district 11 years ago.
The contract would call for 120 days of service at $300 per day and would become effective July 1.
Langley, who has worked at Dallas City for six years, said the school board wanted to have his successor in place before the new fiscal year begins in order for the two to have time to work together.
"We want this to be a seamless transition," Langley said.
