The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.

Moment in History

In 1861 a new school house on Lot 17 in B. H. Martin's new addition of Biggsville replaced the old, crude frame building previously used.

As the town grew and the population increased, a larger school in a more central location was needed.

In 1869 a fine two-story school in the west part of town in Shoemaker's addition was erected. About 125 scholars attended in 1882.
