The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.

Moment in History

The first United Presbyterian services in Biggsville where held in a grove east of town south of the railroad bridge in 1859.

The Rev. J.A.P.McGaw, then pastor of South Henderson, gave the message as the town was considered part of his mission field.

The congregation was organized on January 3, 1866 in the schoolhouse with original members coming from both South Henderson and the Ellison congregation.

For several years they worshiped in the room above Frank McKims store, known as Sloans Hall.
