The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
Oasis Rebekah, Lodge 49, recently met with the La Harpe Fire Department and presented them with a check for $145.00 toward the purchase of a "Jaws of Life." The lodge was given $12.00 and challenged to "make it grow' and give it back to the community.
A drawing was held for a cotton throw, and the members sold home-made candy to meet the challenge.
Representing the lodge were Treasurer Bonnie Hensley, Vice Grand Janet Murphy, Secretary Margaret Johnson, Noble Grand Pat Williams, and Warden Mary Thurman.
Oasis Rebekah Lodge is located in Blandinsville, a part of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, world-wide. They support and are involved with Visual Research, Arthritis Foundation, DARE, Scholarships, Nursing Homes, and Orphanages. Oasis members are pleased to be a part of the efforts to obtain life-saving tools at home as well as participating in the ongoing projects of the Order.
