Fair Queen Pageant This Monday At SHS

The Henderson County Fair Pageant will be in the Southern High School Gym at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2004. There are six girls who are hoping to become the new queen for 2004. They are as follows:

 

Olivia Crandall

Olivia Crandall- Olivia is a student at Southern High School and the daughter of Donald and Janean Crandall. She is sixteen years old and will be a junior this upcoming year. She especially loves to play volleyball and participate in plays for the Drama Club. Olivia is also in Spanish Club, SAE, and National Honor Society. Besides school activities, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, dancing, going mudding, watching movies, and just plain having fun. Olivia likes to be around people and plans to to into Business Administration in college.

Ciara Robinson

Ciara Robinson- Ciara is a junior at Southern High School and is sixteen. She is the daughter of Ora Robinson and Tanya Robinson and has a sister Starr and a twin sister Symone. Ciara has competed in many different activities in school and was inducted into the National Honor Society last year. She hopes to finish out High School strong and then join the Air Force. Ciara has plans to be a pilot, but says, "you never know what other jobs may interest me."

Robin Kay Guile

Robin Guile- Robin is the daughter of Robert and Tammy Guile of Stronghurst. She has three older brothers and is going to be a sophomore this fall at SHS. Robin has participated in cheerleading, volleyball, chorus, band, and was in the spring musical. She is an honor roll student and a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. In her spare time, Robin likes to hang out with friends and family. She also enjoys going to gymnastics every week, but most of all, she loves to shop. Robin's favorite memory was when she went to Europe over the summer.

 

Elizabeth Ackermann

Elizabeth Ackermann- Elizabeth is sixteen years old and will be a junior at Union this fall. She lives with her parents, Todd and Charlotte Ackermann, outside Biggsville. She has one younger sister, Stephanie, and is currently involved in volleyball, track and band.

Next year Elizabeth will be Junior Class Vice President and will hold an office as Student Council Historian.

She has been active in Girl Scouts for eleven years. She has earned the highest award possible for a Girl Scout-a gold award and also won the silver award the previous year. Elizabeth has participated in many honor bands, and solo and ensemble contests.

She attends Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth and is also in the youth group. Her plans are going to college and eventually becoming a dentist.

Lindsey Dilsaver

Lindsey Dilsaver- Lindsey is fifteen years old and is going to be a sophomore at Union High School this upcoming year. Most people know Lindsey as a very outgoing, loyal, trustworthy person who is fun to be around. Some of her athletic interests include basketball, track, jump rope, and volleyball. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and close friends.

Her parents are Scott Dilsaver and Robin Anderson. Lindsey loves taking pictures and scrapbooking and spends a lot of time on the river, boating and jet skiing.

She also babysits for several families whenever she gets the chance. Lindsey is looking forward to the pageant by having a good time and making new friends.

Melissa Moyers

Melissa Moyers- Melissa is seventeen and lives in Biggsville, and has been there for about three years. She attends Union High School and is the daughter of Frances Doran and Bill Lucas. Melissa loves playing sports and is very active in school activities, such as basketball, dance, piano, FFA, FCCLA, Art Club, and Peer Mediation.

She has played basketball, softball, and is currently very active in dance. Melissa has taken piano and voice lessons for three years. She feels she is a very well-rounded person, friendly, easy to get along with, outgoing, and very spontaneous. She is looking forward to being in the Pageant this year.
