TERRE HAUTE - Come November, registered voters in this Henderson County hamlet will mark their ballots at a different location.
County Board members approved the move this week from the Terre Haute fire truck shed to the recently built fellowship hall at the Terre Haute United Methodist Church.
County Clerk Marcella Cisna said the move was prompted by a request from election judges, who said the shed was small, cold and difficult to reach.
The church hall has ample space to accommodate voters, has a sidewalk and is handicapped accessible.
Henderson County has 13 precincts, with 106 voters in Terre Haute Township.
By state law, polling place locations may be moved every two years, following a primary election.
