Meet Your Neighbor Joan Gerling. Joan is a retired schoolteacher and lives near Carman. She graduated from Columbus High School and then later Drake University and Iowa Wesleyan.
Joan married Roy Gerling in December 21, 1947. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He passed away in November 2000.
Joan is active in the community card club, Retired Teachers, Senior Citizens, and the Carman United Methodist Church and Sunday School.
