The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
Thought a young man in 1882, Matthew Huston was worthy of note in the 1882 History of Henderson County.
He was born and reared in Bedford Township (Raritan today) and to him the community was indebted for the introduction of fine bred horses.
He first began to raise graded cattle and blooded horses about 1876 and made a success of the operation from the start.
His farm and stables were in Sec. 28, where he had 108 acres.
He married on Dec.15, 1871 to Miss Minerva Lovett. Mr. Huston was an honored member of the Masonic fraternity.
