Cheryl Lefler of the Illinois Coalition for Community Services attended Monday night's La Harpe City Council meeting.
Ms. Lefler spoke of a project available to smaller communities for a variety of services. These services being human need, environment, education, and public safety.
A team of workers would be able to do the labor for the projects at no cost to the city, and the city would provide the materials needed. Lefler offered her assistance in the application process.
This topic will be discussed further at a later time.
The motion was approved to approve the third reading of the Residential Structures Ordinance 2004-1.
Word was received that the grant money applied for through the Lt. Governor's Office is not available at this time due to lack of funds.
The new aerator has been installed at the lake water plant and is working well.
The La Harpe City Council meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. Monday evening with Aldermen Helmers and Carpenter both absent.
The next meeting will be held February 9, 2004 at 7:00 p.m.
The Board adjourned the council meeting at 8:05 p.m.
