The President-ProTem and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lomax met in regular session on Tuesday, January 6, 2004, and heard discussion on an increase in the Sheriff's services for the village and the problem of junk cars and unused chattel in the village.
President ProTem Jack Todd called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with Clerk Leslie Roberts (P), James Rosenboom (P), Jack Todd (P), Ron Van Niewaal (P), Rick Kienlen (P), Rebecca Moyers (P) answering roll call, and Kim Peters absent.
The Minutes and Treasurer's Report were approved and the bills accepted and ordered paid.
Sheriff Lumbeck addressed the board concerning the contract for police services and asked for an increase to $1,750.
The board discussed the matter. VanNiewaal moved to approve the increase, seconded by Rosenboom, roll call vote all ayes.
Kienlen moved to pay for an accounting class for the Clerk/Treasurer Leslie Roberts at Southeastern Community College for $276; seconded by Moyers; roll call vote all ayes.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the board agreed to move the February meeting to February 10.
VanNiewaal moved to rent the storage unit again for the Christmas decorations, seconded by Rosenboom and all present approved.
The clerk reported that she needed to have the computer repaired. The board discussed the matter and directed her to obtain some bids for purchasing a new one.
The board discussed the problem of junk cars and unused chattel and will be writing violations of offenders.
